Long-range missile of Ukrainian, UAVs has hit a gas processing plant of Russia, partially destroying the plant.

The plant is located in Russia's Orenburg region, about 1,050 miles east of Kyiv. The plant also processes gas from Kazakhstan's Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field.

It is Russia’s energy sector that has been majorly supporting its economy, and has emerged as a backbone to support its war efforts against Ukraine, something that Ukraine has targeted.

However, international sanctions on Russian productions including its oil, has made Russia’s export difficult. On the other hand, for Ukraine too, sustaining the war has been a difficult.

Peace negotiations between the two countries have hit road block as it involves territorial demand by Russia. Since long, the U.S. has been negotiating between the two warring countries for peace.

Earlier on December 22, Kremlin special envoy Kirill Dmitriev had held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner in Miami on how to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Kremlin at present is reportedly analysing the proposal that the U.S. has given for ending the war.
