U.S. President Donald Trump’s renewed statement to take over Greenland has been received variously by different countries even as Greenland has not taken it kindly.

European Commission stated that the European Union will continue to uphold the principle of national sovereignty. The European Union (EU) also expressed support for Denmark, an EU partner nation which indirectly controls Greenland, autonomous Danish territory today.

Greenland prime minister Jens Frederik Nielsen reacted to the US President Trump's stand, saying, “That's enough now”. “No more pressure. No more insinuations. No more fantasies of annexation, Nielsen has posted a message on the social media. Nielsen, however, has added, "We are open to dialogue. We are open to discussions. But this must happen through the proper channels and with respect for international law."

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul noted that Greenland belonged to Denmark. He said the NATO alliance could discuss strengthening its protection if necessary.

Trump’s statement of Greenland take-over has gained renewed fears in the international community after the U.S. attacked Venezuela and captured its president Nicolas Maduro, flying him of the country to New York City.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, meanwhile, has said that it was now for the U.S. to justify its action in Venezuela. He termed the action as ‘not straight-forward’.

Hungaria Prime Minister Viktor Orban, on the other hand, stated of the U.S. action in Venezuela as saying that the action should have a positive impact on the world energy market.

Venezuela has the world’s largest proven oil reserve, where the U.S. firms are expected to move in after the U.S. action as clarified by President Trump himself.

China says U.S. acting like ‘World Judge’

China has accused the U.S. of acting like the ‘world judge’ by capturing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and putting him on trail in New York City.
