Israeli researchers have on Monday said that with the help of Artificial Intelligence they have now been able to identify five million victims of the Holocaust during the Second World War, according to reports by various news organisations.

More than six million Jew people had fallen victims to Nazi Holocaust in one of history’s unforgettable incidents.

According to reports, Israel had developed its AI-powered software to comb through records and try to identify the Jewish people killed in the Holocaust whose names were missing from official memorials.

The AI-powered software tracked down information on 4.9 million individuals by scanning through statements and documents, checking film footage, cemeteries and other records.

Yad Vashem, Israel's official memorial institution for the victims of the Holocaust located in Jerusalem, has called the work as a historic achievement. It maintained that the work was accomplished after 70 years of dedicated research, documentation and collaborations with archives, memorial sites, Jewish communities, and survivors worldwide.

While Germany wants to move on from its past Nazi history, Holocaust continues to remind the world the harsh reality of human sufferings in wars.

In recent days too, human sufferings are all over the world due to wars that have left hundreds of thousands of victims. Some dead and as many injured and lot many homeless.

The choice, therefore, is between memory and no-memory.
