Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has pleaded not guilty in a U.S. court when he was produced in New York on Monday.

Maduro was produced before the court on narco-terrorism charges. Maduro is reported to have also maintained that, he ‘was kidnapped’ as he pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile, at an emergency meeting held in the United Nations Security Council, Russia condemned the United States’ action against Venezuela as ‘armed aggression’. Russia also demanded the release of Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

China too condemned the U.S. military action against Venezuela in the UN Security Council emergency meeting.
