Huge Job Cuts in Package Delivery Company

United Parcel Service (UPS) is reported to be cutting jobs by 30,000 and shutting 24 of its facilities. The world’s largest package delivery company, UPS is also reducing its deliveries for Amazon.

According to reports, the UPS is diversifying itself to areas with bigger profit margin as the delivery service has become competitive and dilutive.

Amazon itself has cut 16,000 jobs on Wednesday. Since October last, Amazon had been cutting jobs taking the job cuts to 30,000 as part of its plan to downsize its workforce, which at present is said to be 1.58 million. Reports said that exercise of jobs cuts might extend further.
